When did we go?
APRIL - the weather was perfect. Sunny and warm in the day, chilly and cool at night. We did get a few rain showers, but that's to be expected in the spring. Crowds were not bad at all, but reservations were full at the more popular restaurants. We did see about 4-5 small, low-key bachelorette parties, and one bachelor party.
Budget $$
Savannah is very budget friendly. There are high end hotels, but also many budget friendly boutique hotels and tons of Airbnb options. Savannah has a combination of cuisine, prices ranging all over, so it's easy to find affordable food. There are also a handful of grocery stores close by. If you do not fly in to the tiny Savannah Airport, the most expensive thing would be renting a car from the Atlanta Airport (4 hours) or Jacksonville Airport (2 hours).
